Black Box has two types of lightweight technique barbell which are ideal for Olympic weightlifting training. The aluminium 8kg version features light/medium-depth knurl with dual (IWF and IPF) knurl markings for even hand placement on the barbell, no matter the lift. The knurl is enough for a good grip for lighter loads, but not so much that you’ll tear up your hands during high-volume training. The lack of center knurling also allows for comfort during high-volume training. This bar weighs is 1840mm long in total/1320mm between collars, so it fits on standard-width Olympic squat and power racks. The collar sleeve length is 230mm. The Technique Barbell has a bushing sleeve; this produces plenty of rotation, but it spins slower, making it great for training technique. Its bare aluminum shaft has a 28mm diameter, this bar is compatible with regular plates (with 50mm diameter holes), but it has a 120lbs max load. It’s intended for technique training using light loads.
The steel 10kg version has a single knurl marking with black coated shaft. The shaft is also 1320mm long with 25mm diameter. The collar sleeve length is also shorter which is only 170mm
